Counselors/Resource Teachers, Resource Centre
Qualifications
  1. B.Ed. or M.Ed.
  2. Minimum one year counseling or teaching experience in education preferred.
  3. Independent worker who takes initiative, also able to work with a team
  4. Excellent communication, problem solving, and word processing skills.
  5. Fluent spoken and written English or willingness to take English classes to increase fluency. Some positions call for fluency in Marathi.
Responsibilities
  1. Undergo knowledge and skills training in the area of Learning Disabilities (LDs) by taking courses and workshops (arranged and paid for by Morris Foundation) on learning disabilities.
  2. Keep abreast of current research and literature on LDs.
  3. Work at Morris Foundation’s Resource Centre to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and provide one-on-one resource support to children identified with LDs based on formal educational assessment conducted by trained psychologists.
  4. Administrative responsibilities including maintaining case files, writing reports on activities, progress, and future goals, and communicating with parents about individual children's progress.
  5. Attend and participate in team meetings, and undergo performance reviews.
  6. Participate in community information and education workshops for parents and professionals working with children (teachers, physicians, and psychologists)

Resource Teacher, BOLD Program
Qualifications
  1. B.Ed. or M.Ed.

Responsibilities
  1. Undergo knowledge and skills training in the area of Learning Disabilities (LDs) by taking courses and workshops (arranged and paid for by Morris Foundation) on learning disabilities.
  2. Keep abreast of current research and literature on LDs.
  3. Work primarily at collaborating school sites to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and provide one-on-one resource support to children identified with LDs based on formal educational assessment conducted by trained psychologists.
  4. Administrative responsibilities including maintaining case files, writing reports on activities, progress, and future goals, and communicating with parents and teachers about individual children's progress.
  5. Educate the school principal and teachers so they can identify children with learning disabilities and refer them for assessment. Communicate with class teacher about specific children's LDs and suggest helpful classroom strategies.
  6. Identify children who would benefit from support services and refer their parents to the Morris Foundation Resource Center.
  7. Attend and participate in team meetings, undergo performance reviews, and address concerns or problems arising with school staff, individual children, and their families.
  8. Participate in community information and education workshops for parents and professionals working with children (teachers, physicians, and psychologists).

Psychologist, Resource Centre
Qualifications
  1. M.A. Psychology or M.S.W. Social Work.
  2. Experience in conducting educational assessments for children suspected of having Learning Difficulties (LDs).
  3. Background in education, special education, social work, or clinical psychology. Experience working with children preferred.
  4. Independent worker who shows initiative, also able to work with a team.
  5. Excellent communication, problem solving, and word processing skills.
  6. Fluency in English and Marathi.
Responsibilities
  1. Undergo knowledge and skills training in the area of LDs by taking courses and workshops (arranged and paid for by BOLD Program) on learning disabilities. Keep abreast of current research and literature on LDs.
  2. At Remedial Centre, assess referred children's learning difficulties, develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and provide one-on-one remedial services to children. Counsel parents about their child's LDs and strategies they can use to help.
  3. Administrative responsibilities including maintaining case files, writing reports on activities, progress, and future goals, and communicating with parents and teachers about individual children's progress.
  4. Attend and participate in team meetings, undergo performance reviews, and address concerns or problems arising with children and their families.
  5. Participate in community information and education workshops for parents and professionals working with children (teachers, physicians and psychologists).

Qualifications
  1. Post-graduates in Psychology or Education.
  2. Knowledge of research methodology.
  3. Experience conducting research, analyzing data, writing reports.
  4. Ability to communicate fluently in English and Marathi.
  5. Independent worker who takes initiative, also able to work with a team and take direction.
  6. Excellent communication, problem solving, and word processing skills.
  7. Strong computer skills. Experience with research software a plus.
Responsibilities
  1. Undergo knowledge and skills training in the area of Learning Disabilities (LDs) by taking courses and workshops (arranged and paid for by Morris Foundation) on learning disabilities.
  2. Keep abreast of current research and literature on LDs.
  3. Work at Morris Foundation’s Resource Centre with Resource Teachers and Psychologists to identify questions, and collect and analyze data to measure effectiveness of interventions.
  4. Attend and participate in team meetings, and undergo performance reviews.
