Community Education
When individuals struggle with learning difficulties without receiving help, there are significant long-term personal and societal costs. The Morris Foundation seeks to increase the community's awareness about the learning difficulties that children experience and the long-term impact of these difficulties on their careers and on their contribution to society.
Our staff conduct community education workshops for:
- parents
- professionals responsible for children (teachers, physicians, and psychologists)
- corporate social responsibility programs of larger business firms
- voluntary organizations such as Rotary Clubs, NGOs, and housing development societies.
The goal of these workshops is to sensitize parents, professionals, and the community about learning differences. We believe that ultimately, such education will improve identification of children with learning difficulties so they may be referred for formal testing and assessment.
We seek to educate the community by collaborating with the local print media to publish several educational articles about learning difficulties.
