About Us
To provide direct services to children with learning difficulties and to fund programs at organizations that work with children and families; together these initiatives will enhance the education and health of children in our community.
Children who learn differently face extraordinary challenges in the classroom and later on as adults. The Dr. Anjali Morris Education & Health Foundation offers several programs to help children with Learning Differences (LDs):
Assessment Program – Psychologists use validated psychology tests to assess each child’s academic skills in the areas of reading, written language, spelling, verbal expression, and math. The written report identifies the child’s specific learning difficulties and makes recommendations to parents and teachers to support his/her learning.
Bridging Over Learning Differences (BOLD) Program – Resource Teachers work directly with children at several English- and Marathi-medium schools in the Pune area. Children who are struggling with learning because of identified learning differences (though a detailed assessment procedure) are taught skills and strategies to cope so they can succeed in mainstream schools.
Resource Centre – Children work one-on-one with Resource Teachers in the evenings and on Saturdays at the Morris Foundation office. They assess and identify each child's specific difficulties, then develop a plan to build on the child’s strengths and provide him/her with the strategies and tools to improve his/her learning.
ADD/ADHD Clinic – Doctors and psychologists at our clinic collaborate to assess children with attention components to their learning difficulties. Children identified with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) or Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) are treated with some combination of medical intervention and services at the Resource Centre.
